Hello everyone! You can expect to see some new projects in the coming months as our wedding season is winding down. Here are a couple of new painting projects that we are working on. I hope that you like them!
If you are unclear as to what these are I am happy to explain. Some photographers believe that these are simply filters or actions that are available in Photoshop. Nothing could be further from the truth. These pieces are completely hand painted using a digital program called Painter by Corel. We begin by using an image in which we would like to transform and then we determine what technique we would like to create. We can use an oil technique, or a pastel chalk or even a watercolor process. Each effect has a distinctively different look and feel. When complete, we then decide as to what medium is best for the final painting. Real artists canvas, French watercolor paper or traditional photographic paper. When finished and framed, there is nothing like it anywhere.

Hi Rick, I am a frequent viewer of your blog yet I have yet to make a comment. I am a fellow photographer from Austin, TX and a big fan of your work. I have seen some of these paintings from other artists at WPPI in Vegas yet none of them had the same level of depth and texture that your pieces have. This last one of the bride and what looks like her mom helping her with her necklace is simply beautiful! So full of color and texture I can’t stop looking at it! Great job man!
